Samson Boxers Reg’d began in 2001 because of one amazing dog…Sam “Samson’s King Solomon” who not only introduced me to the breed but also the show ring. My family acquired Sam in and in order to get Sam my father agreed to have him shown. Sam garnered a few points however he was not really of show quality so he was retired. However whatever Sam lacked in conformation he more than made up for in temperament and personality and has forever endured me to the breed.

Samson Boxers Reg’d began with the purchase of Cooper “Ch. Bayridge’s Initial Review”…when I purchased Cooper I had agreed to either have him shown or show him myself. In the end I decided to show Cooper myself, which worked out amazingly for me. Despite all the mistakes I made while learning to present my own dog Cooper won many breed, puppy breeds, groups, puppy groups and puppy shows. Cooper was retired from the show ring at a year and a half after being pulled out first and awarded first Award of Merit at a very large Boxer Specialty in Calgary, Alberta. Cooper was retired from the show ring so we could concentrate on Schutzhund which Cooper excelled at. I found Cooper after an exhaustive search for the perfect Sabre son. Sabre “Am Can Ch. Berlane’s Causin An Uproar, CDX Am Can LOM” was an amazing dog and showman and after meeting him at a show I knew that I wanted one of his son’s!

My name is Burton Hoyt and I have acted as both President and Vice President of the Alberta Boxer Club as well as Training Director of the Lethbridge Select Working Dog Club. I have worked as a professional trainer specializing in aggressive dog issues. In the show ring I have shown my own dogs from Best of Breed right thru to numerous Best In Shows. In September 2013 I was involved in a motor vehicle accident which prevents me from handling our dogs in the show ring so Val took the lead…and has done a wonderful job!!!
My partner is the love of my life who like me has a lifelong interest in dogs. We actually met at a dog show and a year later our life together began (after all who else could get our crazy).
We live in Lethbridge, AB. Our family consists of two wonderful children, a son Cohen who was born in 2010 and a daughter Elizabeth who was born in 2013. We have 1 Whippet, 2 Boxers. As all of our dogs are an integrated part of the family we have several show/breeding Boxers living with other families located around Western Canada.
